The European Parliament, which works in 23 languages, meets in Brussels and Strasbourg. Members of the European Parliament (MEP) are elected once every five years by voter right across the 27 Member States of the European Union on behalf of its 492 million citizens.- The European Parliament is the only European institution to be directly elected by the people.
